Blood Donation for traffic accidents victims at Syntagma Metro Station (Thursday, 16-11-17)
Road Safety Institute (RSI) Panos Mylonas and Korgialenio-Benakio Hospital, with the support of OASA S.A and STASY S.A support the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims and join forces to support RSI Blood Bank for traffic accident victims.
Voluntary Blood Donation took place on Thursday 16.11.2017 at Syntagma Metro station events hall from 10.00-16.00, an important initiative for Greece, as 14.000 people got seriously injured because of a traffic accidents in 2016 and 54.000 in the last 5 years.
RSI Blood Bank initiative started in 2013 and several people, organizations and stakeholders have supported and contributed to RSI effort to protect life and prevent traffic accidents. More than 150 people lined up to voluntarily give blood in the donation event on Thursday 16.11.2017.
The OASA Group and STA.SY. SA, two Organizations that consistently support the work of RSI, promoted the Blood Donation on messages displayed on screens at the bus stops and the Metro stations in Athens, demonstrating once again their human and responsible corporate side at the society.
The action was under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.
The Greek Institute for Research and Education for Road Safety and Prevention & Reduction of Road Accidents "Panos Mylonas" has been active since 2005 and is a non-profit organization aiming to promote traffic safety culture and education , by supporting activities and prevention actions that promote Road Safety.
