Road Safety conference was organized by the delegation of the European Commission at the House of European Union in Cyprus, in Nicosia on June 28th, 2019.
The conference topic was ‘’Strategy & Good Practices for Road Safety in EU”.
Conference speakers presented strategy and data on road safety, priorities, programs financing, new technologies & cars new features, training programs and best practices shared between EU countries that will enable to increase Road Safety level between parties involved and meet the EU 2030 target of reducing road deaths and serious injuries by 50%.
The new Strategic Action Plan on Road Safety that established in 2018 is a vision for all countries to follow and join forces for road deaths and serious injuries prevention by new traffic legislation measures and enforcement operation on road networks.
R.S.I “ Panos Mylonas’’ played an important role during the meeting while BoD President Mrs Vassiliki Danelli – Mylona presented Actions and Initiatives for Promoting Road Safety in Greece & Europe focusing on three key topics :

- Εuropean Road Safety Charter which is the largest civil society platform on Road Safety. R.S.I is the manager and coordinator of a seven ( 7 ) countries members cluster as follows : Bulgaria, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, Malta and Latvia.
- Best practices and successful programs in Greece and worldwide for Youth and adults and specifically the AVENUE (EU DG MOVE) Model . AVENUE was ranking first ( 1st ) in the evaluation by the Experts Committee of the European Commission .Youth program aims at expanding and transferring the knowledge and good practices of RSI’s educational activities for adolescents and it will be presented by R.S.I. in wide scale at 24th World Scout Jamboree in West Virginia, USA from 22 July – 3rd August 2019. The program is supported by FIA and it is also available to all FIA clubs and Voluntary Organizations and finally,
- Videos and Road Safety campaigns of R.S.I that aired in TV and Social media.
Key speakers were : Mrs Foteini Ioannidou, Europen Commission, Head of MOVE.DDG2.C.2 for Road Safety, Mr Orben Volker, President TISPOL, Mrs Vassiliki Danelli – Mylona R.S.I ‘Panos Mylonas” President, Mr. Savva Aristotel Operational Engineer, Transportation, Telecommunication and Works Ministry, Mr Evripidou Cyprus Chief Officer Traffic Police Headquarter.
