«ROAD SAFETY ACTUALLY» The New Holidays’ Campaign by RSI “Panos Mylonas”
At the beginning of every New Year we make the sad report with road crashes and fatalities that took place during the holiday season. Each year, during this period, about 400 traffic incidents are recorded in Greece with 35 deaths and more than 500 people injured.

Our country still performs ranking 8th worse concerning road deaths with 65 fatalities per million inhabitants, when the European average in the EU27 is 51 fatalities. All this, despite the fact that our country during the last 10 years (2010 - 2019) has managed to reduce the number of road deaths by 44% and serious injuries by 63% (the latter being the higher reduction in Europe).

There are still many risky behaviors for drivers and those who share the road with us: the temptation to answer a call or use our smartphone while driving, speeding, drink-driving, not wearing seat belt or/and helmet, overtaking, even the fatigue and drowsiness!

The 2020 Holidays’ Campaign by Road Safety Institute (IOAS) "Panos Mylonas", held under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, reminds drivers that driving safely and courteously is fundamental: because the best gift for the holidays as well as for every day is to celebrate TOGETHER with our beloved ones.
Take a minute to watch the video and share it with your friends, colleagues and your beloved ones. Enjoy holidays with them!
