RSI's awareness raising and educational activities based on “European Mobility Week” (16-22. Sept)

This year, the “European Mobility Week” (16-22. Sept) concerned the effects and difficulties Europe faced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, suggesting ways and possibilities for change and improvement after the prevalence of the health crisis, encouraging and stressing sustainable modes of transport in urban settings.
Road Safety Institute (RSI) "Panos Mylonas" carried out a series of awareness raising and educational activities based on the thematic "Safe & Healthy with Sustainable Mobility".  Specifically, on 16.09 at the Traffic Park of Kifissia - N. Erythrea, RSI implemented an informative event on electric scooters.
The next day, the Traffic Police and RSI trainers informed school students and local associations about the safe and proper use while crossing the “Afroditi” new bridge/aerial walkway of the Municipality of Palaio Faliro.  On the same day (17/09), an open informative event with the RSI road safety simulators took place in Central Greece at the Municipality of Larissa, under the support of the Aegean Motorway S.A. 
During the weekend of 18
th & 19th of September, open informative and awareness activities concerning safe cycling for children were carried out at the Municipality of Nea Penteli and Palaio Faliro.  Moreover, during 20-22nd of September, the 1st  International Training Activity of the European project “MOVING STARS”, took place in Athens with participation of partners from Greece, Ireland, Poland, Spain and Turkey.  “MOVING STARS” is an Erasmus+ KA2 School Education project funded by the European Union that aims to update teachers skills and knowledge on Traffic Safety by developing an innovative educational progrramme of movement-based and game-based learning activities as well as videogames using motion sensing input devices.
