RSI Panos Mylonas invited in the Special Permanent Road Safety Committee of the Hellenic Parliament
Road Safety Institute (RSI) "Panos Mylonas was invited by the Special Permanent Road Safety Committee of the Hellenic Parliament, chaired by Mr Makarios Lazaridis, to inform the Parliament’s Committee Members on initiatives related to the development of a driving safety culture behavior.
The President of RSI, Mrs Danelli-Mylonas opened her speech by analyzing the issue and the statistical data of road traffic crashes in our country and internationally, presenting subsequently actions and proposals of the Institute which are integrated in the National Strategic Plan for Road Safety. She also referred to the UN Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030*. The Institute, which is in UN ECOSOC Consultative Status for Road Safety issues on youth, participated in the formulation of the Global Action Plan that provides the guidelines for zero road traffic fatalities (Vision Zero) through the adoption of the Safe System Approach.
In her presentation, Ms. Mylonas went on to elaborate on the Institute's continuous 18 years of action to enhance road safety in Greece through the implementation of educational programs, awareness raising campaigns, infrastructure improvements measures and research work.
After her speech, the Members of the Committee took the floor, showing great interest in the issues mentioned and presented by the President of RSI, congratulating her for RSI’s important work and actions.

* The UN Global Plan 2021-2030 has been translated into Greek by RSI "Panos Mylonas" under the support of the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) in the framework of the "Global Action-Streets for Life" Programme and was filed in the Greek Parliament.
