Scouting for Global Road Safety during the

3rd UN Global Road Safety Week

The Hellenic Road Safety Institute (R.S.I.) “Panos Mylonas” coordinated activities and workshops in Greece during the 3rd Global Road Safety Week (4-10 of May 2015) in cooperation with Athens and Pikermi Municipal Authorities, private and public stakeholders, NGOs and the Representation of the European Commission in Greece. On the occasion of the Annual Global Road Safety Week, scouts from Poland and Ireland travelled to Greece along with the Greek scouts and the Austrian KFV representative in Athens for participating in the workshops that R.S.I. organized and coordinated in order to transfer and multiply the message on safer roads for kids and the society.

Events took place for training teachers and students and numerous awareness road safety activities, such as:

·        In Athens, at Korai Square, under the auspices of Athens Municipality where R.S.I. signed the Declaration #SaveKidsLives. (photo attached)

·        in the holy city of Messolonghi in Western Greece where the R.S.I. Road Safety Mobile Unit also travelled for presenting the AVENUE European programme application following the invitation of the Greek Representation of the European Commission in Greece for celebrating the Day of Europe.

·        in R.S.I. premises in Athens and

 

R.S.I. coordinated activities on the initiative of Scouting for Global Road Safety working closely with WOSM, the largest youth organization in preparation of the 23rd World Scout Jamboree that takes place in Japan this summer.
