RSI “Panos Mylonas” in Canada for the “MOOT 2013”!
RSI "Panos Mylonas" in cooperation with "Soma Hellinon Proskopon" (Scouts of Greece) and "Scouting Ireland" are organizing for the second time (following successful activities during the 22ndGlobal Scouting Jamboree in 2011 in Sweden) road safety workshops in a global level, for rover scouts that are participating in the MOOT (8-18 August 2013) taking place in Canada.
Since more than 15.000 rover scouts will take part in the Canadian MOOT, the attendance expected will be massive. In August 6th, the RSI team consisted of 3 persons is flying to Canada where they will be joined by 3 scouts of Scouting Ireland, with lots of enthusiasm for the days to come! Workshops and experiential activities equipment transported have been developed within the EU AVENEU for Traffic Safety Project that RSI is coordinated for 9 countries.
The importance of the initiative is that young road users (18-25) that are mainly fatally injured globally due to road traffic accidents will attend the workshop part of which will be to give feedback concerning specific road safety issues in their respective countries about the United Nations Convention for Road Safety. This feedback will be presented by RSI President Mrs. Vassiliki Danelli-Mylona in September during the UNECE Transport Division W1 Meeting.
