 The Road Safety Institute (R.S.I.) "Panos Mylonas" continues its efforts to inform and raise awareness of all road users by creating in the heart of Athens, a pleasant area, easily accessible to all, in order to better inform citizens on road safety issues.

 

The Road Safety Information Center (R.S.IC.) was established thanks to the support of Philekpaideutiki Etaireia (Society for the Promotion of Education and Learning) and the Safer Roads Foundation, while the referral Centers for Road Safety (NEST’s) have been developed through the EU funded AVENUE project.

 

The Institute invites the media, friends, partners and stakeholders to support this initiative and attend the official opening ceremony of R.S.IC. that will take place on Wednesday, December 11th, 2013 at 12:30 at its store in Stoa tou Bibliou  (5 Pesmazoglou Str.  & Stadiou, Arsakeio Megaron, Athens).

 

The opening will be held by the General Secretary of the Society for the Promotion of Education and Learning (Philekpaideutiki Etaireia), Prof. I. Paraskevopoulos and the Board Member of the Society for the Promotion of Education and Learning (Philekpaideutiki Etaireia), General Manager of the Stoa Bibliou Mr. D. Kakavelakis .

The President of BoD R.S.I. "Panos Mylonas" Mrs V. Danelli-Mylona will present the R.S.IC.'s goals, that aspires to become a key reference point for Road Safety and the EU funded AVENUE project’s programs.

 

In addition, representatives of Members of the Alliance for Safety and Courtesy on the Road "Roads to the Future" will make statements about their role and contribution in this road safety initiative which is co-ordinated by R.S.I. “Panos Mylonas”.

 

On this day, the Institute will be also awarded by TÜV Austria Hellas with the certificate of ISO 39001 standard for Road Traffic Safety Management, in the configuration of which the Institute has held a key role internationally.

Simultaneously, the Institute will also receive the certificates of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 29990 standards relating to Quality Management, Environmental Management and Learning Services for non- formal education and training respectively.
