Scouts around the world are joining hands together this week to strengthen global forces against the number one cause of death for young people, road accidents. Annually, over 1.2 million people die on roads in a cause that can easily be tackled with joined up action.

Τhe Road Safety Institute “Panos Mylonas” as a member of the "European Youth Forum for Road Safety 2013" is hosting a two-day workshop on May 9th and 10th , dedicated to Pedestrians.

The willingness of youth organisations and public authorities to cooperate in order to create a road safety culture among young people in the EU and neighbouring regions was reiterated today at a road safety conference.

Under the sound of the WRC racing cars’ engines in front of Zappion Conference center in Athens, the staff of RSI “Panos Mylonas” and fifteen volunteers were present for the Ceremonial Start of the 58th Acropolis Rally of the 2012 World Rally Championship (WRC). RSI was there, to educate and sensitize road users who share their passion for racing with the use of AVENUE project’s Mobile NEST and road safety equipment.

Jamboree is an event in which Scouts, from every corner of the world, participates for two weeks. Every four years they gather in a different country and it constitutes the major event in which tens of thousands of Scouts are meet, live, play and learn together. It addresses Scouts - boys and girls - from 14 up to 17 year-old.
