At UN headquarters in Geneva, from 19th to 22nd of February, Inland Transport Committee (ITC), the highest policy making body of the UNECE in the field of transport, held its 81st Session. RSI, represented by Mrs. Vassiliki Danelli – Mylona, participated under UN ECOSOC Consultative Status.

Road Safety Institute (RSI) “Panos Mylonas” in collaboration with the Safer Roads Foundation (SRF) and the European Transport Safety Council (ETSC), in the context of promoting social messages and informing the public on road safety, presented today, Thursday 29 November 2018, the new awareness campaign on the necessity to use the seat belt, both on the front and rear seats of the vehicles.

The European Commission has today published data showing that deaths on EU roads fell by just 2% last year, following a similar decrease in 2016 and a 1% increase in 2015.

`With great success and massive participation from young and older people, the campaign of 11th PanHellenic Road Safety Week was completed. The campaign was implemented by R.S.I.”Panos Mylonas” in collaboration with Hellenic Institute of Transportation Engineers, the support of HELLASTRON and of Coalition for Safety and Culture on Road.

The Conference on the European Road Safety Charter (ERSC) was held with great success on Wednesday the 21th March at the Amphitheater of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport: The event was organized by the Road Safety Institute (RSI) "Panos Mylonas", ERSC’s Representative in Greece, and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

More than 8,000 children aged 0-14 years have been killed in road traffic collisions over the last ten years in the European Union, new data show. Half of the children killed were travelling in cars, a third were walking and 13% were cycling, according to a report published today by the European Transport Safety Council (ETSC).

A double folded Pan-Hellenic Student Contest of Digital Creation, devoted to Road Safety, is being organized by the Educational Radio-Television of the Greek Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs and the Road Safety Institute (R.S.I.) “Panos Mylonas”. Primary students of the country are asked to use their imagination to promote the message, “Taking care on the road!”, while students of Secondary schools will portray their concerns on the subject: “Road Safety is everyone’s Right”.
