A memorandum of cooperation was signed between Scouts of Greece and RSI on road safety issues on Monday 10th of June 2019.

- Tackling urban road safety must be a key priority for the European Union and European countries over the next decade, according to the European Transport Safety Council, authors of a new report.

Within the framework of the EU Road Safety EXCHANGE project, a High Level meeting was held (June 10, 2019) at the Greek Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure

On 6 June, the International Union of Railways (UIC), together with various stakeholders from the rail and road sectors, road safety authorities, academia and international institutions, will gather for the 11th International Level Crossing Awareness Day. Following successful previous events in Brussels, Warsaw, Paris, Geneva, Lisbon, Istanbul, Riga, Montreal and Zagreb, this year’s event will be held in Amersfoort, Netherlands, organised jointly by UIC and ProRail, the Dutch railway infrastructure manager.

For one more time, Clean Up- Safety Day campaign of RSI “Panos Mylonas” commenced on the 31st of May 2019 with moto: “Cleaner Road Signs- Safer Roads” that took place in Ampelokipi area which is encountering road signs vandalism. RSI’s initiative was under the auspices of Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, Athens Municipality and supported by Athens Traffic Police.

At the annual ASECAP Days Conference (ASECAP is the European Association of Operators of Toll Road Infrastructures) on May 29-31, 2019, held this year at Costa Navarino in West Peloponnese.

On May the 23th at Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre took place the award ceremonies for primary students’ Digital Creativity Contest “Road Safety: Always and everywhere” and secondary students’ Digital Creativity Contest “Road Safety: Common Responsibility”.

In August 2019 road safety professionals from different countries will gather again for the European Road Safety Summer School. Excellent speakers, good examples from European countries and ample networking opportunities: these are the key ingredients of this international 5-day course.

During the 5th UN Global Road Safety Week (May 8-9, 2019), a 2-day Workshop was held in Athens, with Road Safety education experts coming from 10 established Organizations for Education on Road Safety and Mobility in Europe (LEARN)
